Two trains collide in Egypt: 20 injured!
Twenty people were injured following a collision between two trains in the Egyptian city of Minya. Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene after the accident, which occurred near the Abu Qurqas station. The Ministry of Health announced that the injured were transported to hospitals and that there were no fatalities. The Egyptian government continues its efforts to improve railway safety.

In a written statement issued by the Egyptian National Railways, it was noted that a train rear-ended another train coming from Aswan and heading toward Cairo near the Abu Qurqas station in the Minya Governorate.
CARRIAGES FELL INTO THE WATER
The statement reported that two carriages from one of the trains fell into the Ibrahimia irrigation canal, and that rescue teams and cranes arrived at the scene, while the train that had been separated from the two carriages continued its journey toward Cairo. A statement from the Ministry of Health also indicated that following the train accident that occurred in the morning hours, hospitals in the region increased their readiness to receive the injured, and 23 ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The statement noted that there were no fatalities in the incident, 20 people were injured, and 19 of them were transferred to Minya General Hospital, while 1 was taken to Minya University Hospital.
The Egyptian government has been working for years to develop the country's railway networks, including equipment, systems, and infrastructure, to prevent accidents involving trains used by approximately 2.5 million people daily.
