UAV attack carried out on three cargo ships off the coast of Sinop
It has been reported that three cargo ships were subjected to an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles off the coast of Sinop, with no group claiming responsibility for the attack. There were no casualties in the incident, and the Turkish Coast Guard intervened rapidly.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack was carried out on three cargo ships sailing in the Black Sea, north of Sinop. It was reported that two of the ships targeted in the attack were flying the Sierra Leone flag, and one of the vessels was identified as the cargo ship James II, which was approximately 80 kilometers off the coast of the Türkeli district of Sinop at the time of the incident. Information was shared that the ship in question was not carrying cargo during the attack.
The other ships are named Altuna and Velora, and it was noted that both are registered to Sierra Leone. Following the attack, Turkish Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the scene. Authorities reported that the health status of all ship crew members is good.
No group or state has claimed responsibility for the attack following the incident. However, attention is being drawn to the increasing tensions in the Black Sea recently; in particular, mutual attacks between Russia and Ukraine targeting maritime and port facilities in the region occasionally come to the world's attention.
As of now, no official statement has been made by Turkish authorities regarding the incident.
