Uğur Dündar's sharp response to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's 'disgrace' remark: 'I regret having supported such a person'

In a statement on his social media account, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that reports circulated by citing a "name close to Kılıçdaroğlu" as a source were completely untrue. He also criticized Uğur Dündar's comment, "So the CHP is on the right track," regarding posts claiming that the CHP has "distanced itself from the people and the people's problems," using harsh language.

Kılıçdaroğlu's social media post is as follows:

While our country is struggling with deep crises in every area of life and politics, producing baseless rumors about me; trying to make people forget the real problems of the public and diverting attention elsewhere is not right.

I, of course, exempt the precious and honorable journalists who practice the sacred profession of journalism. But it is my duty to point out the disgrace of incorrigible, ambitious people whose eyes are so blinded by malice that they can say, "So the CHP is on the right track!" just to turn a sentence I never said into a smear campaign.

I do not want to hurt or refute anyone. But let the valuable members of the press and journalists know that; I do not have a relative I speak to for the purpose of conveying messages to the press regarding the country's agenda and politics, nor do I have such a style. Please do not give credence to rumors about me other than the posts I have made and the interviews I have given."

Veteran journalist Uğur Dündar responded to the post Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made about him, again via social media. In his post, Dündar stated, "Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu called me a 'disgrace'! He is right! It was a DISGRACE that I supported such a person for years!.."
