Former football player Ümit Karan has been arrested as part of a drug investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

As part of the investigationconducted by the IstanbulChief Public Prosecutor's Office into drugs,the formernational football player taken into custody, Ümit Karan, has had aruling issued against him.
Along with Ümit Karan, the judge13 people referred to the courthouse were arrested.
Karan was arrested on charges of 'Selling, offering for sale, dispatching, transporting, storing, purchasing, accepting, or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances without a license' under Article 188 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).

As part of the drug investigationlaunched against celebrities, former national football player Ümit Karan was detained in recent days by police teams at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. He was taken into custody. Meanwhile, along with Ümit Karan, 23 other people were also detained.He had beentaken into custody.
