Ümit Özdağ addresses rectors who banned spring festivals! 'Instead of telling the youth that Germany is jealous of you...'

Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ, who announced that he had received complaints from university students regarding the banning of spring festivals, reacted to Haliç University Rector Nihat İnanç. On the other hand, emphasizing that İnanç used the term 'Türkiyeli' (person from Turkey) instead of 'Turkish nation', Özdağ stated, "The rector deemed even a spring festival, which all universities hold, too much for Haliç University students and banned it, yet he did not interfere with some students chanting 'Allahu Akbar' for Palestine inside the university. Students should be able to have fun just as they can support Palestine."

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ announced in a post on his X account that he had received complaints from students that rectors were banning spring festivals at universities.

“Why are you against young people having fun?” asked Özdağ, adding, “Instead of offering youth 6-8 person dormitory rooms, feeding them bad food, and telling them that Germany is jealous of you, and instead of banning spring festivals, improve the quality of your courses.”

Addressing Haliç University Rector Nihat İnanç, Özdağ included the following in his post: "One example is Haliç University. Rector Nihat İnanç reportedly refers to the Turkish nation as 'Türkiyeli'. The rector deemed even a spring festival, which all universities hold, too much for Haliç University students and banned it, yet he did not interfere with some students chanting 'Allahu Akbar' for Palestine inside the university. Students should be able to have fun just as they can support Palestine."

The entirety of Ümit Özdağ's post is as follows;

"This year, I am receiving more complaints than ever from students at various universities that the spring festivals they want to organize are being banned.

I wonder, have the university administrators who ban spring festivals never been young themselves?

Why are you against young people having fun? Instead of offering youth 6-8 person dormitory rooms, feeding them bad food, and telling them that Germany is jealous of you, and instead of banning spring festivals, improve the quality of your courses.

One example is Haliç University. Students should be able to have fun just as they can support Palestine.

Over 1,000 petitions collected by students have been thrown in the trash. Haliç University students are very angry at the rector, whom they believe humiliates, belittles, and looks down upon them.

Dear rectors, let the youth have fun. Dear young people, do justice to both working and having fun. And do not forget your mothers and fathers who make sacrifices for you to study."

In his next post, Özdağ published footage of Haliç University students protesting Rector Nihat İnanç, who used the term 'Türkiyeli' instead of 'Turkish nation'.
