Umut Akdoğan's 'this is torture' outcry for Murat Çalık: 'May God reform them...'

CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan reacted harshly to the transport of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık between prison and the hospital following his surgery; stating "this is torture," he emphasized that the patient's right to choose his own doctor was being violated.

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who underwent surgery, was referred to a hospital for his health condition after swelling and discharge occurred in the area following the operation. Although Çalık had stated in his official applications that he wanted to be treated by his own doctor, he was transported to İzmir City Hospital in a prison transport vehicle. However, it was stated that he did not accept treatment there.

While it was learned that Çalık was taken back to prison, CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan reacted to the issue. In a post on his X account, Akdoğan expressed his reaction to the situation by saying, "A patient has the right to choose their hospital and their doctor. What could be more natural than wanting to receive treatment, wanting to be checked, wanting to have stitches removed, and wanting to see one's own doctor?"
