Unbelievable events in the Sinan Ateş murder: Police officers took the hitman to Ankara!

A 145-page indictment has been prepared regarding the investigation into Sinan Ateş, who lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Çankaya, Ankara, on December 30, 2022. The names of 22 people are included in this indictment.

According to the report by Dinçer Gökçe from Halk TV, the names against whom a lawsuit has been filed in the indictment are as follows:

Special operations police officers Aşkın Mert Gelenbey and Murat Can Çolak, as well as Mustafa Ensar Aykal, who served in the Murder Bureau, hitman Eray Özyağcı, Vedat Balkaya, Suat Kurt, Doğukan Çep, Tolgahan Demirbaş, Zekeriya Asarkaya, former MHP Istanbul executive Ufuk Köktürk, Mustafa Uzunlar, Osman Bayraktar, Mehmet Yüce, Çağlar Zorlu, Aytaç Ataç, lawyer Serdar Öktem, Caner Günay, Emre Yüksel, Umut Ersoy, Alper Atay, and Erdem Karadeniz.

Here are the unbelievable events and statements in the indictment:

In addition to hitman Eray Özyağcı and Doğukan Çep, who is accused of organizing the murder, former Idealist Hearths executive Tolgahan Demirbaş and suspect Mustafa Ensar Aykal, who served as a commissioner at the Ankara Police Department, are also among those against whom a lawsuit has been filed.

THE HITMAN RECEIVED ALL INFORMATION FROM THE COMMISSIONER

It was learned that Tolgahan Demirbaş, one of the suspects listed as an instigator of the murder, obtained Sinan Ateş's personal information such as his address, phone number, and location from suspect Mustafa Ensar Aykal, who served as a commissioner at the Ankara Police Department, and informed Eray Özyağcı, who carried out the attack.

TWO SPECIAL OPERATIONS POLICE OFFICERS

Hitman Eray Özyağcı claimed that he told Doğukan Çep shortly before the incident that he was going to shoot someone, but did not say who it was and did not receive help from him. He recounted that on the days he was thinking about how to get to Ankara, where to find Ateş, and how to escape from the scene, he heard two special operations police officers sitting next to Çep talking among themselves about going to Ankara.

"THE POLICE OFFICERS AGREED TO TAKE ME TO ANKARA"

Özyağcı gave the following statement:

"I turned this into an opportunity and asked the police officers if I could join them on their way to Ankara, explaining that I needed to visit a sick person in Ankara but that I was wanted for a minor prison sentence and did not want to go to prison. Upon this, the police officers agreed to take me to Ankara."

"TO NEUTRALIZE..."

Stating that he conducted reconnaissance in Ankara for two days, Özyağcı stated that he had breakfast in Çukurambar on the day of the incident and saw Ateş and two people with him a while later.

Özyağcı said, "At the moment we came face to face with the individuals, I drew the weapon I had on me and first fired 3-4 shots at Ateş's legs. Upon the individual named Selman also drawing a weapon, I fired rapidly with the intention of neutralizing Sinan Ateş, thinking of my own safety, which resulted in the individual becoming motionless."

AT A HOTEL IN BEYKOZ

Alper Atay, President of the Alemdağ 1877 Sports Club, against whom a lawsuit was filed, said he knew Eray Özyağcı and Doğukan Çep. Atay explained that after the murder, he went to a hotel in Beykoz with Doğukan Çep.

"DELETE ALL OF THEM"

Former MIT member Çağlar Zorlu, against whom a lawsuit was filed, stated that he had been working as a civil servant at the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs since 2015, and alleged that Tolgahan Demirbaş, against whom a lawsuit was filed, told him, "We have a mischievous friend, we will warn him but we cannot find him, we need his address," and subsequently, "On the day of the incident, Aytaç Bey (Aytaç Ataç) called me on the phone around 13:30-14:00. He said, 'Sinan Ateş was killed. You were asked some things about him... Delete all of them.'"

"I NEED URGENT MONEY"

Ufuk Köktürk, who said he knew Doğukan Çep from the prison where he stayed in 2013, noted in his statement, "On the evening of December 28, 2022, Doğukan Çep called me via FaceTime. He said, 'I need urgent money for two days.' He did not say what the money was for. He said, 'I am in a difficult situation. Can you send me 4000 TL?'" and stated that he sent the money to the account Çep sent. Köktürk said he learned about the Sinan Ateş murder when Çep called him.

"DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN SUCH THINGS, YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE"

Aytaç Ataç, the owner of the venue named Marco Pascha in Gölbaşı, Ankara, stated that he knew Tolgahan Demirbaş and Çağlar Zorlu and explained the following:

"Tolgahan said to Çağlar, 'We need to find an address, can you help?' Upon this, Çağlar said, 'I can help.' However, Tolgahan did not say whose address he wanted in my presence. When Çağlar came to the cafe later, he told me during our conversation that the address Tolgahan had asked him for was Sinan Ateş's address. Upon this, I said, 'Do not get involved in such things, you will have trouble.'"

"I SAID BE CAREFUL"

"After this conversation, Çağlar continued to come to my cafe as a customer until the 6th month. After the 6th month, we did not have any face-to-face meetings again. Although I do not remember the exact dates, we spoke on the phone a few times. These conversations were in the form of asking how we were. After I learned about the killing of Sinan Ateş on social media, I asked, 'Do you know about the incident?' Upon him saying no, since I knew about his meetings with Tolgahan, I said, 'Sinan Ateş has been killed. You have meetings with Tolgahan, be careful.'"

Emre Yüksel, who is noted as the private secretary of Idealist Hearths Chairman Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım, said in his statement that he met with Tolgahan Demirbaş after the Friday prayer where Sinan Ateş was killed and they went to a restaurant. Yüksel noted that he came to Istanbul with Demirbaş on the same day and returned to Ankara on March 31.

"BECAUSE THEY LIVED IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD..."

Aşkın Mert Gelenbey, who serves at the Istanbul Special Operations Branch Directorate, said the following regarding his contact with hitman Eray Özyağcı:

"I have known Eray Özyağcı, whose name I learned from you officers, for about 8-9 years because my older sister A. B. lived in the Aydos district of Istanbul. I was residing in Ordu province at that time. I would go to visit my sister from time to time during holidays. I know Eray Özyağcı because he lived in the same neighborhood as my sister. I did not have much contact with Eray before I became a police officer. However, after I became a police officer in 2019, I started meeting with Eray Özyağcı again because I rented a house near my sister."

"MY PURPOSE WAS TO GO TO A NIGHTCLUB"

"Murat Can Çolak, who works in the same unit as me, and I did not know that Eray was wanted. Since we did not know this, we thought there would be no problem even if we were stopped at any checkpoint. I did not bring Eray Özyağcı to Ankara province for money. Murat Can Çolak and I were already going to come to Ankara to have fun. Eray Özyağcı's grandfather was ill, and he wanted to join us; he even covered half the fuel cost of the vehicle. My purpose for coming to Ankara province was to go to a nightclub." Gelenbey said that when they took Özyağcı to Ankara, they were met by Suat Kurt.
