Unbelievable incident: Insurance registration was awaited before calling an ambulance after a workplace accident

26-year-old İsmail Can Seçkin, who was severely injured after falling from a 4-meter staircase with a baklava cart while working at a dessert production facility in Ankara, passed away 22 days after being admitted to intensive care, following allegations that he was kept waiting for his insurance registration to be processed before being taken to the hospital.
According to the report by DHA, the incident occurred on August 19 at a dessert production facility in the Yenimahalle district, where dessert master İsmail Can Seçkin allegedly fell from a 4-meter staircase with a baklava cart and was severely injured.
INSURANCE REGISTRATION WAS AWAITED BEFORE CALLING AN AMBULANCE
It is alleged that after the accident, Seçkin was kept waiting until his insurance registration was completed, and only after the insurance was processed was an ambulance called and he was taken to the hospital. It was observed in e-Devlet records that Seçkin's insurance registration was indeed processed on August 19, the date of the accident. The records indicated that Seçkin had been registered and deregistered from insurance in 2-year cycles, with his last insurance deregistration occurring last March.
Seçkin's older brother, Halil İbrahim Seçkin, claimed that his brother's insurance registration was processed immediately after the workplace accident occurred, stating, "The boss calling the accountant after the fall, the accountant reaching a computer, entering the records into this computer—these are all massive losses of time. If an ambulance had been called first instead of dealing with insurance, maybe my brother would be alive today. This situation borders on attempted murder. The responsible parties are guilty, and we want them to face the consequences."
'NO CAMERA RECORDINGS, STAIRS LACK RAILINGS'
Noting that they are awaiting autopsy results, Halil İbrahim Seçkin said, "Our justice system will uncover this. We are waiting for the results of the autopsy reports. Whether my brother fell or not is unknown; there are no camera recordings. Working without cameras is a separate act of irresponsibility, and the fact that those stairs lack railings is a separate security deficiency. Keeping him waiting is another issue entirely. The swelling of my brother's head immediately after the fall; when I saw him at the hospital, his head was already very swollen. A person's body does not bruise that suddenly when they fall, a bruising that turns toward black. Instead of dealing with insurance, he could have been taken to the hospital and received initial intervention. None of these were done. This should not have been done to a person who served you for 8 years."
The workplace official had previously claimed in a statement that the incident occurred as a fall from the stairs and that there was no delay in taking him to the hospital.
