Messages between uncle and his worker entered into case file as murder evidence

Eight of the 22 suspects referred to the Diyarbakır Courthouse as part of the investigation into Narin Güran, whose body was found 19 days after she went missing in Tavşantepe Village in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, were arrested.

Alican Uludağ from DW Türkçe reached the prosecutor's testimony of 15-year-old R.A., who is Salim Güran's worker and was released under judicial control.

Records entered into the file show that Salim Güran directed his worker by sending a message saying, "Something of yours fell at that corner at the end, something belonging to you on the slope at the end," and R.A. replied, "Okay, it's not with me yet/okay, it hasn't died yet."

The messages entered into the file are conversations that took place after Narin went missing. Accordingly, the following exchange took place between the two:

Salim Güran: Something of yours fell at that corner at the end, something belonging to you on the slope at the end, the corner of the slope is stone.

R.A.: Uh-huh

Salim Güran: One is on the ground

R.A: Okay, it's not with me yet, it hasn't died yet.

HE DID NOT REMEMBER THE CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE UNCLE

The message in question was asked to R.A. during the interrogation. R.A. claimed, "I swear I don't remember such a thing."

Furthermore, R.A. gave contradictory answers to many questions during the interrogation. In his testimony, R.A. claimed that he never left the side of headman Salim Güran after 14:00, except for when he went to change his clothes, and that they were in the field. He alleged that Salim Güran came to them between 14:00 and 15:00, said, "I will go home, change my clothes, and come back," and then left, and that the headman returned to the drilling site 5-10 minutes later.

The investigating prosecutor asked, "What is your statement regarding this contradiction?" by reminding him of the statements in Salim Güran's testimony indicating that he went to other places from the field. However, R.A. said, "I have nothing to say regarding this contradiction."

The suspect was also asked about his calls with Salim Güran on August 21 at 08:33, 15:52, 18:37, 18:52, and 18:54. However, R.A. claimed that he did not remember these calls.

It was recalled in the testimony that Nevzat B. stated that about 15-20 minutes after 15:08, Salim Güran called out to him from the hill side where Narin's father Arif Güran's barn is located, saying, "Get ready, we have work to do," and shortly after, he came to him and gave him Narin's body.

In response, it was stated during the interrogation that R.A. fell into a contradiction by declaring that he did not leave Salim Güran's side from 14:00 to 20:00. R.A. used the expression, "I have nothing to say on this matter."

"WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO PROTECT HIM?"

The investigating prosecutor asked, "In light of all these contradictions, why are you trying to protect Salim Güran?" R.A. replied, "I am not protecting Salim. Salim did not leave my side after 14:00, except for when he went to change his clothes."
