In his message, İmamoğlu stated, "For a month, we have been in a great struggle together. Millions of our citizens across Anatolia are warning the government, inviting it to the right path; the rich, the poor, the right-wing, the left-wing, and the moderates all want the same thing from the government: Listen to the nation, show respect to the nation, do not step outside of democracy. Do not undermine trust in the state and the law. This is the demand of the nation."
İmamoğlu continued: "Due to the government's wrong and ill-intentioned economic policies, the situation of low-income earners has been miserable for years. But the government never cared. For years, Yozgat's tractors have been sowing trouble and harvesting debt. But the government never heard. Despite all the hardships they have experienced, our nation was patiently waiting for the ballot box. But on March 19, the government destroyed trust in the state and the law within a few hours. In a few hours, the government dealt a major blow to democracy and the national will."
"In the evening, they had my 30-year-old diploma canceled by an unauthorized institution," said İmamoğlu, adding, "In the morning, they detained and arrested me and my friends. They thought they could guarantee the upcoming election by throwing me into a dungeon with a completely politically motivated case prepared with false and incorrect statements from secret witnesses, without proof or evidence. They tried to act like fake heroes by hiding behind the judiciary instead of facing me honorably before the nation. At the end of their quarter-century in power, they calculated that no one would speak up because they no longer value or respect the nation. But the nation stood up and ruined all their calculations."
