Ünsal Ban, who came to the agenda with Sedat Peker's videos, has been released
Journalist İsmail Saymaz announced that former THK University Rector Ünsal Ban, who was being tried while in custody on charges of sending personal data belonging to AKP MP Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu to organized crime leader Sedat Peker, was released yesterday from the case in which he was being tried for 'money laundering'.

Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz announced on his X account that Ünsal Ban, the husband of former AKP Erzurum MP Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu and former Rector of the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) University, has been released in the case where he was being tried for money laundering.
In his post, Saymaz used the expression, “Ban, who was arrested after the footage released by Sedat Peker, is free after 13 months…”
HE WAS ARRESTED ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2022
Ünsal Ban, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was released on September 2, 2022, with the judicial control condition of 'not leaving his residence'. Following the objection of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the decision, Ban was detained again. Ban, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested again on September 3, 2022, and sent to prison.
HE WAS RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 13, 2023, AND RE-ARRESTED ON FEBRUARY 14
In a statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that suspects Ünsal Ban, Ü.B, G.B, E.B.B, A.K, B.G, İ.E, L.Y, and S.G were referred to the interrogation judgeship on February 13, 2023, with a request for arrest, based on MASAK reports and other evidence collected within the scope of the investigation into the crime of laundering assets derived from crime.
It was stated that on February 14, 2023, suspects Ünsal Ban, Ü.B, G.B, E.B.B, and A.K were arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace for the aforementioned crime, while the other suspects were released with judicial control conditions.
On the other hand, Ünsal Ban, whose trial continues at the Ankara 37th Criminal Court of First Instance on the grounds that he shared his wife's private images with organized crime leader Sedat Peker, had been released at the hearing on February 13, 2023.
