Following the large-scale attacks carried out by Israel against Iran, the Tehran administration has called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to hold an extraordinary meeting. Iran condemned Israel's attacks on nuclear facilities and the assassinations of high-ranking military officials, inviting the international community to take action.

According to the Iranian state news agency IRNA, the official letter sent by Tehran's Permanent Mission to the UN to the UNSC strongly criticized Israel's “aggressive stance that disregards international law.” The letter emphasized that these attacks threaten international peace and security.

The Iranian mission stated that Israel must be held internationally accountable for its actions and requested that the Council convene urgently.

The Israeli Security Cabinet launched a comprehensive military operation against Iran in the early hours of the morning following a meeting held late last night. It was learned that within the framework of the operation, Iranian Chief of General Staff Mohammad Bagheri, Revolutionary Guards Commander Hossein Salami, and high-level nuclear scientists were targeted.
