The United States (US) has issued a statement regarding the attacks launched by anti-Assad regime groups in the Syrian city of Aleppo. White House National Security Council Spokesperson Sean Savett stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and are in communication with countries in the region.
THE ATTACKS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE US
Savett stated, "The attacks in Syria have nothing to do with the US. These attacks are being carried out by the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)."
The statement noted that the current situation in Syria stems from the Assad regime's refusal to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2254, which was adopted in 2015. It was pointed out that the regime's dependence on Russia and Iran has also deepened the crisis environment.
The US called for the initiation of a political process in line with UN Resolution 2254 and for the protection of civilians and minority groups during this process. The Washington administration emphasized the importance of international efforts to ensure stability in Syria.
