US pledges "full support" to Israel: We will help if attacked

Speaking to members of the media during his visit to the Philippines, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin delivered messages regarding US support for Israel.
Austin said, "I don't think that a war is inevitable. But if Israel is attacked, we would certainly help defend Israel."
Noting that they do not want the situation to reach that point, Austin stated, "We don't want to see any of that happen. We're working hard on that, and we're doing things to help lower the temperature and address issues through diplomatic means."
Regarding the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, Austin also said he had no information beyond what has been reported in the media.
