Following these decisions by the court, the first statement came from Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş.

Dedetaş made the following statement via her social media account:

"Our municipal personnel, primarily our Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci and our Kentaş General Manager Nazım Akkoyunlu, have unfortunately been arrested.

Our colleagues serving within the Üsküdar Municipality are people of merit who have dedicated their professional lives to urban planning principles, public interest, and a scientific approach to planning.

We stand behind our colleagues to the end, and we have not the slightest doubt that they will return to us.

No one will have the power to weaken the environment of trust and solidarity we have established in Üsküdar.

We will continue to work with all our might and produce services for our neighbors."
