Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated the following regarding the matter:

"The 96 billion lira debt of municipalities has risen to 150 billion liras, and this has become unsustainable.

We are calling out to all municipalities; pay your debts.

We will initiate foreclosure proceedings against municipalities that do not take any action.

The municipalities that pay their debts the least are CHP-run municipalities," he said.

GÖKÇEK STATEMENT FROM IŞIKHAN

Minister Işıkhan made a reference to the era of AKP's Melih Gökçek regarding the debt of the CHP-run Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, using the expression: "The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has an 8.5 billion lira debt to the SGK; when he took it over from Melih Bey, the debt was 209 million."

Mansur Yavaş responded sharply to Minister Işıkhan's statement regarding the ABB's SGK debt. Yavaş described the developments as a 'collective attack' and said the following:

Applications for installment plans with a request for hardship, involving the deletion of interest pursuant to Article 48/A of Law No. 6183, were REJECTED.

The request for installment plans pursuant to Article 48 of Law No. 6183 was accepted, and in this context:

651 million, which is the 10% down payment of the debt, was paid.

Land studies for 50% collateral of the debt were reported to the SGK by the Real Estate Department with 2 separate schedules, but due to restrictions and foreclosures on the collateral, the SGK Board of Directors REJECTED 1.2 billion of the collateral, except for an 80 million portion.

In the latest meetings, it was agreed to cancel the application under Article 48 of the relevant law and to reach a mutual agreement for a 250 million payment for all companies through mutual consent.
