In his statement, Yalım said, "Before the convention held at the end of 2023, I gave money to Özgür Özel, who was the CHP Group Chairman at the time, in the amounts of 200,000 liras and 1 million liras in cash, to be used for the expenses of the congresses. I took the 200,000 liras in cash to Özel's house in Manisa. When I approached the house, I called Özel. He told me to leave the money in a bag on the garden wall of the house. I left the 200,000 liras in a bag on the garden wall of the house to be picked up by Özgür Özel, as he instructed, and then I left. I delivered the 1 million liras in cash in a bag to a person named Demirkan, whom I knew as a close friend of Özgür Özel, near the CHP Provincial Headquarters building in Denizli, upon Özel's instructions."
CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağbaba made a statement to journalist Aytunç Erkin regarding Özkan Yalım's allegations. Ağbaba's statement was reported on tv100.
According to what Aytunç Erkin reported, Veli Ağbaba's response was as follows:
All the delegates in Uşak were pro-change. He has no influence. In February 2018, we were holding sugar protests. There was a commission. There were many names there. These things being said are lies.
We are not speaking up, but I spoke in Parliament the other day. Below-the-belt publications are being made about Özgür Bey and us. No one is speaking up. Young women, girls… These are shameful.
The Chairman lives in a complex with 18 apartments. It is surrounded by walls and has security cameras. He goes all the way there and leaves 200,000 liras in a bag on the wall. Is this plausible? These are statements he made to save himself.
These are statements entirely aimed at the convention. They are the words of those who insist on the issue of absolute nullity.
I do not think there will be a party closure, but they want to make a 'nullity move' by discrediting us here. I don't think this will work either. What does it mean to demand nullity at this stage? This is harmful to Turkey.
