WHAT HAPPENED?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against Prof. Dr. Süleyman Salih Zoroğlu, who was alleged to have made irregular diagnoses for his child patients at his clinic operating in the Kartaltepe neighborhood of Bakırköy. The 151-page document included allegations that he attempted to remove children from their families, place them in a house under his own control, and had plans to take them abroad.
According to the indictment, Zoroğlu allegedly diagnosed children coming from different regions of Turkey with 'having been abused' without any scientific basis and directed his patients. It was claimed that the psychiatrist, who allegedly misled children regarding their psychological states, attempted to sever their ties with their families.
The indictment alleged that Zoroğlu diluted ketamine, a substance used in animal surgeries, and administered it to children, thereby making them dependent. It was claimed that he incited the children against their families and made suggestions to them.
The indictment further alleged that Zoroğlu attempted to place the children in a house he called a 'sisterhood' (bacıhane) and subsequently planned to take them abroad. It was noted that the goal of this process was to completely sever the children from their families.
In line with the evidence collected during the investigation, the indictment prepared against Zoroğlu was submitted to the court.
