The hearing at the Ankara Regional Court of Justice (BAM) 1st Criminal Chamber was attended by detained defendants İlker Karakaş and Ali Gündüz, as well as non-detained defendants Semih Soyalp, Gözde Gündüz, and Jale Erberk, along with the lawyers for the parties.
The presiding judge stated that the case had reached the verdict stage and gave the floor to the defendants. Defendant Karakaş said he believed the court would reach a fair decision. Defendant Gündüz also stated that the discretion lay with the court and requested his acquittal.
Non-detained defendants Semih Soyalp, Gözde Gündüz, and Jale Erberk also requested acquittal. After the statements of the defendants and their lawyers, the court announced its decision, upholding the 25-year prison sentence given by the local court to Karakaş for the crime of 'intentional killing,' while overturning the 25-year prison sentence given to defendant Gündüz for the same crime.
Ruling that the defendant committed the crime under unjust provocation, the court sentenced Gündüz to 12 years in prison for 'causing death as a result of intentional injury.' The court also overturned the verdict given to non-detained defendant Soyalp. Deciding that Soyalp had committed the crime of 'causing death as a result of intentional injury' against the victim Şener, the court sentenced the defendant to 10 years in prison. Following the decision, defendant Soyalp was arrested in the courtroom.
The court found the acquittal decisions given by the local court for non-detained defendants Gözde Gündüz and Jale Erberk to be in accordance with the law.
BACKGROUND OF THE INCIDENT

A while later, when Onur Şener left the workplace, the second argument between him and the defendants turned into a fight. Musician Şener, who was wounded in the neck with a broken glass, lost his life at the scene.
