Following the Forensic Medicine Report regarding the baby allegedly born from an 'illicit affair' between former IYI Party Antalya Provincial Chair Mehmet Başaran and a woman 34 years his junior, the Antalya 4th Family Court has delivered its reasoned decision. While a DNA test proved that Başaran is the father of the baby born to a woman named Elif Ş. with 99.99 percent certainty, the Antalya 4th Family Court ruled to accept the filed lawsuit.

It had been documented by a Forensic Medicine Report that the illicit affair, which 66-year-old businessman and father of three Mehmet Başaran—the former IYI Party Provincial Chair—had described as a "conspiracy and political character assassination," was indeed real. According to a report by Erdoğan Öztürk from Sabah newspaper, the Forensic Medicine Report proved that Başaran is the father of the baby born to the woman named Elif Ş. with 99.99 percent certainty.

FILED LAWSUIT ON GROUNDS OF 'CONSPIRACY'

Başaran had filed a lawsuit against former IYI Party Muratpaşa Municipal Council Member Kamil Korkmaz and his lover, Elif Ş., on the grounds that they had orchestrated a 'conspiracy' against him at the time.

Denying all allegations against him, Başaran had first lost the 'blackmail' lawsuit he filed. In the case where it was proven that Başaran's claims were baseless, Kamil Korkmaz and Elif Ş. were ultimately acquitted. Başaran, who denied his illicit affair and the baby girl named D.M.Ş. he had with Elif Ş., experienced a second shock after the 'blackmail' case he lost, this time with the Forensic Medicine Report. Following DNA examinations conducted at the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute, samples taken from Başaran and the baby D.M.Ş. were found to be a perfect match, and according to the report prepared on April 3, 2024, it was stated that Mehmet Başaran could be the "99.99 percent father" of D.M.Ş. Başaran had previously stated, "Justice is final. I will abide by whatever decision the court makes."
