Verdict reached in the 'bug case' involving CHP's Burcu Köksal

A verdict has been reached in the case known publicly as the 'bug case,' in which Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal was tried as a defendant. The court has acquitted Köksal.

In the second hearing of the case filed against Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal, which began with her claims that "there is a bug in the municipal building," the complainant, former AKP Provincial Chairman Hüseyin Menteş, and his lawyer reiterated their demands for Köksal to be punished.

The public prosecutor also maintained their opinion, requesting that Köksal be sentenced on charges of "slander" and "fabricating a crime," while the court granted the defense attorneys additional time for their final arguments at that stage.

ACQUITTAL VERDICT

In the final hearing held today at the Afyonkarahisar 1st Criminal Court of First Instance, Burcu Köksal's lawyers presented their final defense. Although the prosecution again requested a sentence, the court panel ruled to acquit Köksal.
