Verdict reached for 139 people who participated in İmamoğlu protests
The 139 people who participated in demonstrations held in many cities following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu have been acquitted by the court due to a lack of evidence of any criminal offense.

The 139 people who participated in protests held across the country in response to the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu had appeared before a judge on charges of "violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations." The Istanbul 49th Criminal Court of First Instance ruled for the acquittal of these individuals on the grounds of insufficient evidence and the absence of elements constituting a crime.
The court evaluated in detail the defenses and claims provided by the defendants regarding the events throughout the process. In the case, which occupied the election and judicial agenda for a long time, it was also decided that "following the addition of the SEGBIS records presented at the hearings on 20.06.2025 and 30.06.2025 to the file, a criminal complaint should be filed with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the relevant persons and institutions regarding the practices that the defendants claimed were unlawful."
Defense attorneys applauded the verdict while standing in the courtroom following the acquittal decision.
