Verdict reached in illegal betting investigation

As part of an illegal betting investigation conducted by the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 43 people were detained in simultaneous operations targeting 59 suspects, including Erkan Kork, the owner of Flash Haber TV, which is under the umbrella of Pozitifbank Payfix Payment Institution and Göktuğ Multimedya Yayıncılık Anonim Şirketi.

31 suspects, who were accused of 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', 'laundering assets derived from crime', and 'violating the law no. 7258 on the regulation of betting and games of chance in football and other sports competitions', were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed.

The 31 suspects, including Erkan Kork, were referred to the courthouse under security measures following health checks.

Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, 21 of the 31 suspects referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest, including Flash Haber TV owner Erkan Kork, were arrested and sent to prison, while 10 people were released under judicial control conditions.
