Veyis Ateş and Taner Çağlı arrested: Drug investigation in the media

In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting the media, as part of a "drug" investigation on charges of 'facilitating the use of drugs or stimulants,' former Habertürk TV Editor-in-Chief Veyis AteşAteş, social media influencer Taner Çağlı, and businessman Mustafa Karataş were issueddetentionorders. Veyis Ateş, Taner Çağlı, and Mustafa Karataş were taken intocustodywere taken into custody.

REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE

The suspects, whose statements were completed at the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command,were referred to theIstanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

Former Editor-in-Chief ofHabertürkEditor-in-ChiefVeyis Ateş was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse under police escort on December 18, 2025, to provide a statement as part of the "drug" investigation.He wasbrought to theIstanbul Courthouseforquestioning. It was also learned that Ateş, who was released after his statement, wouldundergo a drug test.
