Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made a statement on his social media account regarding the adoption of the draft resolution at the United Nations General Assembly, which demands UN membership and additional rights for Palestine.

Yılmaz stated, "We characterize this as a major reaction against the crimes Israel has committed in Palestinian territories since October 7, and we welcome the fact that the vast majority of the international community stands with the freedom of the Palestinian people."

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE VOICE OF THE OPPRESSED"

Vice President Yılmaz noted the following:

"We characterize the adoption of the draft resolution, which was co-sponsored by nearly 80 countries in addition to our own, with 143 'yes' votes in the 193-member UN General Assembly, as a major reaction against the crimes Israel has committed in Palestinian territories since October 7, and we welcome the fact that the vast majority of the international community stands with the freedom of the Palestinian people.

Our country, as always, will continue to stand by the Palestinian cause and our Palestinian brothers and sisters under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Reiterating that the only solution for lasting peace is the acceptance of a viable, independent, and sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem, we call on all countries to recognize the State of Palestine. As Turkey, we will continue to stand for a just peace and be the voice of the oppressed today, just as we have been throughout history."
