Victims of school attack laid to rest
Math teacher Ayla Kara and 8 students, who lost their lives in an armed attack on a school by 14-year-old İsa Aras Mersinli in Kahramanmaraş, have been laid to rest following funeral ceremonies. In addition to their families, numerous politicians and citizens attended the services.

Funeral ceremonies were held at various locations for math teacher Ayla Kara and 8 students who lost their lives in the school attack that took place in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. The victims were laid to rest following the funeral prayers.
TEACHER AYLA KARA LAID TO REST IN TEKİR NEIGHBORHOOD
The funeral of math teacher Ayla Kara (55) was received by her relatives from the Kahramanmaraş Forensic Medicine Institute and brought to the Çarşı Mosque in the rural Tekir neighborhood. Following the funeral prayer, Kara was laid to rest in the Tekir Neighborhood Cemetery.
The ceremony was attended by her mother Emine Gürbüz and daughter Dilara Karakıyak, as well as Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, AKP Deputy Chairperson Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, Deputy Minister of National Education Bilal Macit, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Abdulkadir Polat, CHP İzmir MP Murat Bakan, AKP Ankara MP Lütfiye Selva Çam, AKP Kahramanmaraş MP İrfan Karatutlu, Onikişubat Mayor Hanifi Toptaş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Ali Gemalmaz, Provincial Director of National Education Erhan Baydur, Union of Turkish Bar Associations President Erinç Sağkan, Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, Birleşik Kamu-İş Confederation President Orhan Yıldırım, CHP Provincial Chairperson Ünal Ateş, and numerous citizens.
The funeral of 5th-grade student Y.T.G. (11) was received by relatives from the Kahramanmaraş Forensic Medicine Institute and taken to the Karacasu Kırım Cemetery. The student was buried following the funeral prayer. The ceremony was attended by Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Mayor Fırat Görgel, CHP Kahramanmaraş MP Ali Öztunç, AKP Kahramanmaraş MPs Tuba Köksal and Ömer Oruç Bilal Debgici, Milli Yol Party Chairman Remzi Çayır, AKP Provincial Chairperson Burak Gül, CHP Provincial Chairperson Ünal Ateş, and numerous citizens.
The funeral of 6th-grade student F.S.B. (11) was brought to the Külliye Mosque in the Afşin district. Relatives shed tears by the coffin. The funeral was held following the prayer. The ceremony was attended by her mother Tuba Belli, her brother Ömer Alp, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, CHP Istanbul MP Suat Özçağdaş, AKP Kahramanmaraş MP Mevlüt Kurt, BBP Deputy Chairperson Bülent İspir, her teachers, relatives, and numerous citizens.
The funeral of 5th-grade student Ş.S.K. (11) was taken from the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue and brought to the Duraklı Mosque. The funeral prayer was attended by her father Hacı Mustafa, her mother Ayşegül Kazıcı, and relatives, as well as Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, AKP Group Deputy Chairperson Leyla Şahin Usta, AKP Kahramanmaraş MP Ömer Oruç Bilal Debgici, AKP Gaziantep MP Mesut Bozatlı, AKP Bitlis MP Turan Bedirhanoğlu, and citizens. The funeral was held at the Şeyh Adil Cemetery following the noon prayer.
The funeral of 11-year-old student A.G.Y. was taken to the Haruniye Mosque in the Düziçi district of Osmaniye. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the funeral and conveyed his condolences to the family. Following the prayer led by Provincial Mufti Ahad Taşcı, the student was buried in the Yeşiller Family Cemetery. The ceremony was also attended by Osmaniye Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti, CHP Osmaniye MP Asu Kaya, AKP Osmaniye MPs Derya Yanık and Seydi Gülsoy, Mayor İbrahim Çenet, political party representatives, and citizens.

The funerals of B.N.B. (11), K.E.G. (11), Z.K., and B.N.Ş. (11), who lost their lives in the attack, were received from the Kahramanmaraş Forensic Medicine Institute and brought to the Abdulhamithan Mosque. Following the funeral prayer led by President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, the students were laid to rest in the Şeyh Adil Cemetery.
