Those who lost their lives in the disaster of the century that occurred in Kahramanmaraş were commemorated on the 3rd anniversary. Prayers were offered for those who lost their lives in the earthquake during the program held at the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality National Will Square. While citizens experienced emotional moments during the prayers, some could not hold back their tears.
Protocol members speaking at the program emphasized that the February 6 earthquakes left deep marks on the nation's memory, wishing God's mercy upon the citizens who lost their lives and patience for those left behind. In memory of the February 6 earthquakes, the names of the earthquake martyrs were projected in front of the Metropolitan Municipality service building. The statements made drew attention to the importance of unity and solidarity.
A citizen named Selver Can said, "May God not let us experience this again, may those days never come back," while Serap Arıcıoğlu stated, "We are completing the third year. Our pain is still alive, we stand as we did on the first day. We can no longer be happy."
A driver named Kazım Budak said, "After the February 6 earthquake, we loaded our construction equipment onto the truck and I focused on the earthquake zone without question. I never looked at the speedometer. I stepped on the gas to the earthquake zone, risking death to save one more life. May God never show us such a disaster again."
