A 15-kilometer asphalt road has been built along the shore of Lake Salda, a 1st-degree natural protected area known as the 'Maldives of Turkey' due to its turquoise beach.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Burdur Provincial Special Administration, Governor Türker Öksüz stated that the Provincial Special Administration has implemented significant services that touch the lives of citizens in rural and urban areas, including infrastructure, superstructure, education, health, culture, tourism, sports, and social sectors.
Noting that they spent a total of 566 million liras on investment expenditures last year, with approximately 250 million for infrastructure and 316 million for superstructure, Öksüz explained that they converted a 15-kilometer section of the existing road around Lake Salda into a shared bicycle path using the resources of the Provincial Special Administration.
Öksüz said, "Our goal is to complete the bicycle path around Lake Salda and enable the hosting of national and international cycling tour organizations here. We have also met with the Turkish Cycling Federation. Officials came here and conducted an inspection; their initial impressions are positive. We aim to organize events in line with their feedback."
Pointing out that they will continue to contribute to the development of the city, Öksüz continued as follows:
"We are carrying out our work by prioritizing closed systems in agricultural irrigation. In 2023, 83 thousand meters of closed agricultural irrigation lines were built, and 614 thousand meters have been built in the last twenty years. With this investment, 53 million cubic meters of water savings have been achieved in closed-system irrigation. The total current cost of infrastructure investments across the province between 2005 and 2023 is 4 billion 374 million 460 thousand liras. We also have some project studies aimed at creating an attraction center on the edge of Lake Burdur. We have made progress on these, and we will work diligently in 2024 and hopefully realize those projects as well."
Provincial Special Administration General Secretary Asım Ertilav and Provincial General Assembly President Murat Akbıyık also attended the meeting.
