Following the examination by police teams, the body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for identification and autopsy.
Deniz Güneş, who saw the body while fishing, told reporters that he noticed something next to him after casting his fishing line into the sea.
Explaining that he initially thought what was on the ground was a log, Güneş said the following:
"When I got a little closer, I realized it was a body. I ran to my father and said, 'Dad, there is a body here, but I'm not entirely sure. It could be a log or a mannequin.' Then, when my father and I looked closely, we realized it was a body and notified the police."
