Acid attack in Avcılar: 60-year-old man throws acid in woman's face

In Avcılar, a 60-year-old man committed a horrific attack after a woman 16 years his junior rejected his romantic advances. The suspect, who caused the woman to lose her eyesight by throwing acid in her face, fled the scene but was later captured and taken into custody in Düzce after being identified through security camera footage.

60-year-old Ş.K. wanted to pursue a relationship with 44-year-old Ş.S., who is 16 years younger than him. However, after being rejected by the woman, the man lost control of his anger and threw acid in her face as she was leaving her home to go to work. As a result of the horrific attack, the woman lost both of her eyes and sustained severe burns on her body.

While the attacker fled the scene quickly, the woman's screams for help were heard by nearby citizens. Medical teams arrived at the scene and transported the woman to the hospital for treatment. The suspect was later captured and taken into custody in Düzce.

While the woman's health condition remains serious, the investigation into the incident continues following the suspect's arrest. 

ATTACKER CAPTURED 

Following the incident, police teams launched an investigation and began reviewing surrounding security cameras. As a result of the research, detailed examinations were conducted at the point where the suspect was last seen. In interviews with the woman, identified as Ş.S., it was determined that the suspect had proposed a meeting to her about 6 months ago, but she had rejected it. The woman stated that the man insisted on meeting and constantly came to her house to threaten her and hurl insults. 

The suspect, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the court and sent to prison. Additionally, the moments when the suspect fled after throwing acid in the woman's face were captured on security cameras. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
