Ali Mahir Başarır responds to reactions regarding his 'joy'

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır addressed the reactions to his 'joyful' display during the Party Congress where Özgür Özel was elected Chairman, stating, ''I see that the emotional reaction I gave in the Congress hall has been misunderstood by some of our friends. It is never out of the question for me to show disrespect toward Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.''

Başarır made statements regarding the reactions in a video he shared on his X account.

Başarır's statements are as follows:

''My dear friends… I see that the emotional reaction I gave in the Congress hall has been misunderstood by some of our friends. It is never out of the question for me to show disrespect toward Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. I did not experience an emotional moment out of joy because Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu lost, but rather because our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, whom I support and walk the path with, was elected by our delegates. I want everyone to know this: for me and for my family, Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is very valuable and will always remain so. If I have hurt him on this matter, I would bow before him repeatedly. His place will remain unique and permanent for us.''
