In his commentary regarding claims that jihadist groups in Syria have toppled the Assad administration, Gündüz expressed a wish for a similar situation to occur in Turkey.
When asked, “Statues and idols are on the ground in Syria. When will it be Turkey’s turn?” Müslüm Gündüz replied, “Hopefully, one day our turn will come too.
By the permission of Allah. Since they have started cleaning once… There was Libya, there was Iraq… There was Saddam. It approached us from there, from there, as a result. You never know, our turn might come too, let us pray,” he stated.
CONTROVERSIAL REMARKS
With his statements, Gündüz openly displayed a hostile approach toward the state order of the Republic of Turkey.
