Armed attack on Aziz Yeniay: 22 more suspects in the Küçükçekmece attack referred to the courthouse
The 22 suspects detained in connection with the armed attack that occurred during the election campaign of AK Party Küçükçekmece Mayoral Candidate Aziz Yeniay in Kanarya Neighborhood have been referred to the courthouse following the completion of their procedures at the Public Security Branch Directorate.

AK Party Küçükçekmece Mayoral Candidate Aziz Yeniay was targeted in an armed attack carried out with long-barreled weapons during his election campaign, leaving a woman named Ebru Güneş seriously injured. 26 suspects were taken into custody in the investigation launched into the incident.
26 SUSPECTS, INCLUDING 4 MINORS, REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE
4 of the 26 suspects were referred to the Küçükçekmece Courthouse from the juvenile branch in Üsküdar because they were minors.
The 22 other suspects, including the 4 individuals who carried out the attack, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the Public Security Branch Directorate were completed.
NEW DETAILS HAVE EMERGED
Details of the investigation conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have emerged. According to the information obtained, the attack was evaluated as an assassination attempt against Küçükçekmece Mayoral Candidate Aziz Yeniay.
It was determined that the suspects, who were identified as a criminal organization, were specifically waiting for Aziz Yeniay to leave the association building, but made a timing error and opened fire while the police were exiting.
As a result of the examination of security camera footage, it was determined that the suspects communicated by phone before the attack and moved between streets while waiting for Aziz Yeniay to leave the association.
POSSIBILITY OF IT BEING CARRIED OUT FOR MONEY IS BEING INVESTIGATED
It was stated that the 26 suspects detained in connection with the incident included the 4 perpetrators who carried out the attack, individuals who assisted beforehand, and those who delivered the weapon. The possibility that the attack, for which no terror connection has been established, may have been carried out for money is also being investigated.
It was learned that the suspects did not admit in their statements that their target was Aziz Yeniay, claiming instead that they were there to shoot someone with whom they had a feud.
