Armed robbery in Kadıköy: 17-year-old suspect who said 'We are Kadıköy kids, be smart' placed under house arrest
A 17-year-old attacker who threatened a young person sitting on the street in Istanbul's Kadıköy district with a knife and stole their necklace was identified through security cameras and apprehended. The suspect, who has three prior criminal records, was sentenced to house arrest by the court.

A robbery incident that took place on the street in Istanbul's Kadıköy district has drawn public reaction. A young person sitting with a friend on Mühürdarbağı Street in the Caferağa neighborhood was targeted by a group of attackers.
One of the individuals from the crowd that approached the young people demanded the necklace around the sitting youth's neck. When the youth resisted, the attacker asked his friends for a knife and began hurling threats. The attacker, who stole the necklace at knifepoint, then attempted to take the youth's phone as well, intimidating them by saying, "We are Kadıköy kids, be smart."
IDENTIFIED THROUGH CAMERA FOOTAGE
Following the incident, teams from the Public Security Branch's C Region Bureau Office launched an investigation and reviewed local security camera footage. The footage revealed that the robber had arrived at the scene with five other people and had threatened the victim with a knife to steal the necklace.
The suspect's identity was determined shortly thereafter. 17-year-old Enes B.Ö. was apprehended and taken into custody during an operation. The suspect, who was found to have three separate criminal records, was taken to the Juvenile Bureau Office.
NECKLACE RETURNED TO OWNER, SUSPECT UNDER HOUSE ARREST
While the necklace stolen by the suspect was returned to its owner by law enforcement, Enes B.Ö. was referred to the courthouse following his processing at the police station. After being questioned by the prosecutor, the suspect was brought before a judge and sentenced to house arrest.
