Attempted terrorist attack on Çağlayan Courthouse

Two members of the terrorist organization DHKP/C attempted an armed attack on the Çağlayan Courthouse. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the two attackers, one male and one female, were neutralized and killed, and that 6 people, including 3 police officers, were injured.

Gunshots were heard in front of Gate C of the Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse. Those who heard the gunfire panicked and lay on the ground, while a large number of police were dispatched to the scene.

Meanwhile, it was learned that entrances and exits have been closed.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ALİ YERLİKAYA

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya also made a statement regarding the armed attack at the Çağlayan Courthouse.

Reporting that the two attackers, one female and one male, were killed, Yerlikaya announced that 5 people, including 3 police officers, were injured.

Yerlikaya's statement is as follows;

"Today at 11:46, an attempted attack was carried out at the checkpoint in front of Gate C of the Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse.  

Two attackers, one female and one male, were neutralized. 5 people, including 3 police officers, were injured.

I congratulate our heroic police officers. 

I wish a speedy recovery to our injured. 

We will continue to share developments with the public."

YERLİKAYA: ATTEMPTED TERRORIST ATTACK

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the attackers were members of the DHKP/C. Reporting that the number of injured has risen to 6, Yerlikaya included the following statements in his announcement;

"Today, an attempted terrorist attack took place at the checkpoint in front of Gate C of the Çağlayan Courthouse.

It has been determined that the traitors neutralized, identified as E.Y. and P.B., were members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization.

While the terrorists who attempted the attack were neutralized, 6 people were injured, including 3 police officers and 3 of our citizens.

I wish a speedy recovery to our injured."

 

 

INJURED CITIZEN HAS PASSED AWAY

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced that one of the people injured in the terrorist attack at the Çağlayan Courthouse has passed away. Erdoğan stated, "I pray for God's mercy upon one of our injured who has passed away."
