Mosque Association President Mahmut Uçtu invited Aykut Kocaman to the mosque and said:
“We love Aykut Kocaman. His name is worthy of such structures. They wrote 'Aykut Kocaman Mosque' on the maps. They gave it a nice name. Hopefully, he is also doing good deeds. However, we want this error to be corrected. Sometimes people cannot find the Akşemsettin Mosque. We also welcome our brother Aykut Kocaman here. We invite him to visit. Those who see it are surprised.”

Selçuklu Neighborhood Headman Mustafa Kemal Işık said they were surprised to see the name Aykut Kocaman on the maps, stating, “Our mosque opened for service in 1996. It has been referred to by the same name since that day. However, when it is written as 'Aykut Kocaman Mosque' on maps, the location appears as Akşemsettin Mosque. Aykut Kocaman is one of the rare athletes our country has produced.
We love him. However, we want our mosque to be referred to by its own name and to appear as Akşemsettin Mosque when searched. We were very surprised when we saw the name. It has been known as Akşemsettin Mosque since the day it was founded. We have another Akşemsettin Mosque in our Fatih neighborhood in Sivas. It would be good if this confusion were corrected,” he said.
