An explosion occurred in the basement of a 4-story apartment building in the Atatürk neighborhood of Küçükçekmece. Numerous police, ambulance, and fire department units were dispatched to the scene.

According to initial findings, 1 person lost their life, and 5 people were injured, 2 of them seriously.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
Following the explosion, the Istanbul Governor's Office issued a statement. The statement from the Governor's Office is as follows;
"As a result of the explosion that occurred on Divan Street in the Atatürk neighborhood of the Küçükçekmece district, which was determined to be caused by natural gas according to initial findings, one of our citizens has lost their life. A total of 5 of our citizens were injured in the incident, two of whom are in serious condition, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing."
