Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as Cübbeli Ahmet, spoke about the government's Israel policies. In his speech, Ünlü said, "You cannot mess with the Jews," and added, "There are countless godless, shiftless people who will say, 'You ruined us for the sake of Gaza'."
Stating, "You cannot mess with the Jew; the Jew will make us pay the bill for it at a very high price," Ünlü said the following:

"As a society, let us know our limits; it is not wise to alienate the Jews. They could crash the Central Bank, and our economy is already in poor shape. After that, what will you eat or drink? Thinking that the public would storm the markets and a civil war would break out—which is the definitive conclusion—and because this is feared, and because there is no consciousness in the Ummah and most of the public would not be willing to endure this, there are countless godless, shiftless people who will say to us, 'You ruined us for the sake of Gaza,' 'You destroyed us for the sake of Al-Aqsa Mosque.' That is why these risks cannot be taken."
