Dardanelles closed to ship traffic

The Dardanelles, where dense fog has intensified, has caused disruptions in maritime transport.

Due to reduced visibility, the strait traffic was closed to two-way transit ship passages at approximately 09:05.

Officials from the Dardanelles Vessel Traffic Services Directorate warned ship captains entering from the north and south via radio, announcing that the strait traffic had been suspended. Ships have begun waiting in anchorage areas.
