In Istanbul, DEM Party district executives Abdullah Arınan and Rojda Yılmaz have been detained in connection with a purported memorial service held for a PKK terrorist at the party's Esenyurt district office.
The Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that a purported memorial event was held at the DEM Party's Esenyurt office for Gülşen Atalmış, a PKK terrorist neutralized in 1995, and that organizational photographs were shared.
Following the detention order issued by the prosecutor's office, police teams took action and detained DEM Party Esenyurt District Executives Abdullah Arınan and Rojda Yılmaz.
During the operation, materials used in the purported memorial event, numerous banned publications, and photographs of terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan were also seized at the party office.
