Beauty center owner and influencer Ece Ronay has been detained in Istanbul for allegedly instigating the shooting at her ex-husband Mehmet Bilir's workplace.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS CONDUCTED
Following investigations into the shooting at a beauty salon owned by Mehmet Bilir in Pendik district by individuals on motorcycles wearing helmets on 28.11.2023, and the shooting at an auto gallery in Kocaeli's Gebze district by individuals on motorcycles wearing helmets on 01.12.2023, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch conducted simultaneous operations at multiple addresses this morning to apprehend the suspects identified as carrying out the attacks and Ece Ronay, who is alleged to have instigated the incidents.
6 PEOPLE DETAINED
As a result of the operation, 6 people, including 1 child, were detained.
During searches conducted at the individuals' homes, 1 automatic weapon of 9 mm caliber, 1 pistol of 9 mm caliber, 58 cartridges of 9 mm caliber, and 1 precision scale were found.
While it is estimated that these were the weapons used during the attacks, they have been sent to the Ballistics Branch Directorate for examination.
WHO IS ECE RONAY?
Ece Ronay was born on November 17, 1991, in Diyarbakır. The 32-year-old Ronay is a graduate of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The social media influencer, who first made a name for herself with the videos and posts she shared, later reached high viewership numbers with the songs she released.
Following her song "Karpuz," she made her name known to a wide audience with her song titled "Git Çatla."
