DİSK Basın-İş reacts to AKP's Hatipoğlu's promise
DİSK Basın-İş has reacted to the promise made to journalists by AKP Eskişehir Mayoral Candidate Nebi Hatipoğlu.

During a lunch meeting with journalists from Eskişehir for the January 10 Working Journalists Day, AKP Metropolitan Mayoral candidate Nebi Hatipoğlu began his speech by saying he wanted to give a great piece of news to members of the press. His words, "Members of the press receive very low salaries; therefore, in order for journalists to achieve their economic freedom, if I win the mayoral election, I will assign journalists to various units and commissions of the municipality. Furthermore, I will pay all journalists a salary equal to the minimum wage of that period," created a shock effect among the journalists present in the hall.
Making a statement on the matter, DİSK Basın-İş shared a video of the speech in question on its social media accounts and expressed its reaction through this video.

"We condemn the salary statement made by AKP's Nebi Hatipoğlu as if he were bestowing a favor upon journalists.
The problems of our profession are too serious to be a subject of local elections.
Neither journalism nor journalists will fall for this game for votes! Our pens are not for sale"
