The driver, who was seen weaving through traffic and shouting threats in footage shared on media, was fined 10,831 TL for various offenses. The driver's license was also revoked.

The driver, who was seen weaving through traffic and shouting threats in footage shared on media, has had their license revoked. The driver was also issued thousands of liras in fines.

The following statement was issued by the Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate:

"In the work carried out by our Civil Traffic teams regarding the footage shared on social media and broadcast in national news bulletins;

It was determined by our teams that the driver of the vehicle with license plate 34 BJG 071, identified as H.Ü., performed dangerous maneuvers contrary to the normal flow of traffic on the TEM Highway Nurtepe Viaduct on 08.01.2024, changed lanes in a way that endangered the safety of drivers and passengers in other vehicles, and used the emergency lane, as seen in the footage shared on social media.

A total administrative traffic fine of 10,831 TL was imposed on driver H.Ü., consisting of 1,506 TL for Article 46/2-c (dangerous lane changing) of the Highway Traffic Law (K.T.K.) No. 2918, 690 TL for Article 73/a (driving disrespectfully), 6,439 TL for Article 46/2-f (using the emergency lane), 1,506 TL for Article 56/1-a (passing vehicles from the right or using shoulders), and 690 TL for Article 56/1-d (slowing down suddenly in a way that obstructs or endangers the progress of vehicles). As the individual was a probationary driver and their penalty points exceeded 75, their driver's license has been permanently revoked.

Furthermore, driver H.Ü. has been handed over to the Sadabat Police Station for judicial proceedings to be initiated under Article 179/2 of the Turkish Penal Code (T.C.K.) (endangering traffic safety)."
