Drugs found in ambulance: Healthcare workers arrested
In an operation conducted in Istanbul, 2 kilograms of skunk were seized in an ambulance used for drug trafficking, and 4 healthcare workers were detained. It was stated that the drugs were caught red-handed while being transported to the Bodrum district of Muğla.

Istanbul Police Department teams received information that drugs were being transported to Istanbul via an ambulance. Acting on the intelligence, police teams initiated an investigation and began tracking the ambulance, whose license plate had been identified through technical and physical surveillance.
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, the scope of the operation was expanded by district teams after it was determined that drugs were being transported by ambulance in the Bahçelievler district.
It was determined that the suspects were transporting drugs from the Bağcılar district to their address in Başakşehir using the ambulance and subsequently planned to ship the drugs to the Bodrum district of Muğla province. Following these findings, the ambulance, which belonged to a private company, was stopped shortly after it set off on December 20. Inside the vehicle, 2 kilograms of skunk-type drugs, 1 unlicensed pistol, and 1 blank-firing pistol were seized. It was reported that 4 suspects were apprehended in the raid: G.C.S. and O.D., who were transporting the drugs in the ambulance; M.N., who had come from Bodrum to Istanbul to receive the narcotics; and M.S.H., who was determined to be involved in the incident.
REVEALED TO BE BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
During the work and examination carried out by the police, it was revealed that the ambulance's registration records contained a note stating "Cannot be used for ambulance services - banned from traffic." While the vehicle, which was understood to be a private ambulance, was confiscated, it was stated that all 4 suspects were healthcare workers.
The 4 suspects, who were caught red-handed and detained on charges of drug trafficking and violation of Law No. 6136, were taken to the police station for questioning. After their statements were completed, they were referred to the courthouse. Among the suspects, M.S.H. was released under judicial control provisions by judicial authorities. It was learned that the healthcare workers G.C.S., O.D., and M.N. were arrested and sent to prison.
