Elevator tragedy sparks outrage in Aydın; youth gather at Atatürk City Square: Governor's office permission awaited!
Following the death of Zeren Ertaş in an elevator accident at the Güzelhisar Girls' Dormitory in Aydın, youth from Aydın gathered at Atatürk City Square. Aydın Bar Association President Anıl Yetişkin spoke with the young people who wanted to hold a march. Yetişkin stated that permission for the march would be obtained.

Last night, an elevator carrying Zeren Ertaş and others fell at the Aydın Adnan Menderes University Güzelhisar KYK Girls' Dormitory.
Following the incident, Zeren Ertaş lost her life, and university students gathered to protest.
According to the report by Hakan Horata from Manşet Aydın; when the events, which began with a sit-in, turned into a desire to march, the student group was met with the requirement for governor's office permission. Aydın Bar Association President Anıl Yetişkin stated to the crowd that permission for the march would be obtained as soon as possible.
Yetişkin responded to the students' chants of 'we will not leave the square' as follows:
“I have spoken with my colleagues; we will request a march route from the Governor's Office. As a legal requirement, the governor's office will grant us permission for the march, but a march route must be determined. We will apply to the governor's office and obtain permission for the march as soon as possible. Do not leave; do not exit the area. Security measures have been taken here for both you and the surrounding citizens. Our goal is not to lock you in the square, but to ensure your safety.”
