Erdoğan announces: When will the Istanbul and Ankara candidates be revealed?
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that they will announce numerous candidates, including the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, on Sunday, January 7.

AKP Headquarters, responding to journalists' questions before the candidate determination commission meeting, Erdoğan said, "You will hear the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality candidate on Sunday. Everything we announce will be a surprise from A to Z, and it will be a symbol of our party's determination to win in the local government elections."
Stating that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate will be announced at a meeting to be held in Ankara on January 15, Erdoğan said the following:
"We will announce the Ankara candidate in Ankara. We will announce the election manifesto there. We will announce our strategy document. We will announce nearly half of them."
