Fatih Portakal reacts to trustee appointments in DEM Party municipalities: 'Is this what you want for the country?'

The Ministry of Interior has appointed trustees to Mardin, Batman, and the Halfeti district of Şanlıurfa. Sözcü TV anchor Fatih Portakal criticized the DEM Party for nominating candidates linked to terrorism, which led to the appointment of trustees.

The Ministry of Interior announced that the mayors of Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti have been removed from office and that trustees have been appointed in their place. 

It was stated that Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk has been removed from office. It was reported that Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality in place of Türk.

Information was also provided that Batman Mayor Gülistan Sönük has been removed from office. It was reported that Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Batman in place of Sönük.

Şanlıurfa Halfeti Mayor Mehmet Karayılan has been removed from office. A deputy mayor has been appointed to replace Karayılan in Halfeti. 

FATİH PORTAKAL'S REACTION TO THE DEM PARTY REGARDING TRUSTEES

Sözcü TV main news anchor Fatih Portakal criticized the DEM Party following the removal of the mayors of Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti by the Ministry of Interior due to their 'links to terrorism'. 

Portakal reacted harshly to the DEM Party leadership for failing to nominate candidates who are not associated with terrorism in elections, thereby paving the way for the appointment of trustees. 

"ARE YOU DOING THIS SO THE COUNTRY ENDS UP LIKE THIS?"

Fatih Portakal asked, "Are you doing this so the country ends up like this? Are you hoping for some benefit from this? He has been elected three times and removed from office every time. Don't you have any other candidates?"
