The body of 6-year-old Şirin Elmas Hanilçi, who had not been heard from in Istanbul, was found in Feriköy Cemetery. In the investigation conducted following the murder, it was determined that Şirin was killed by 49-year-old paper collector Mustafa Örün.

Örün, who was taken into custody, confessed to committing the murder and was arrested by the court to which he was referred. Şirin was brought to her hometown of Şanlıurfa and laid to rest in tears.

The final footage of Şirin before she fell victim to the murder was captured on camera. The footage shows Mustafa Örün taking Şirin to Feriköy Cemetery and returning alone along the same path after the murder.
