Fined thousands of liras for drifting, driver's license confiscated

Civil Traffic teams took action following drift footage shared on social media. The individual was issued a 20,342 lira fine for drifting, along with a total administrative fine of 23,400 lira. Additionally, their driver's license was confiscated for 60 days.

Civil Traffic teams have imposed an administrative fine on an individual who shared footage of themselves drifting on their social media account.

The statement released said, "It was determined that the driver of the vehicle with license plate 34 UV 4154, identified as T.E., endangered traffic by emitting smoke from the vehicle and drifting on Cahit Zarifoğlu Street in the Çamlık area on 22.10.2023 at approximately 15:18, and subsequently shared this footage on social media."

DRIVER'S LICENSE CONFISCATED FOR 60 DAYS

The statement further added, "The driver in question was issued a total of 23,400 TL in fines, consisting of 20,342 TL under Article 67/1-D (Drifting) of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918, 951 TL under Article 30/1-B (driving a vehicle that emits smoke in a way that creates a hazard on the highway), 436 TL under Article 73/A (driving in a disrespectful manner that endangers traffic), and 1,671 TL under Article 23/3-b-1 (not displaying the number of license plates required by regulation), and their driver's license has been revoked for a period of 60 days."
