A building collapsed following a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir. It was reported that the collapsed building was old and housed a pharmacy on the ground floor. The earthquake was felt in many provinces, particularly in Istanbul and Izmir.

A powerful 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir at 19:53. According to AFAD data, the depth of the earthquake was announced as 11 kilometers. The tremor was also felt in Istanbul and surrounding provinces.
COLLAPSED BUILDING AND THE PHARMACY BELOW
In Sındırgı, the epicenter of the earthquake, a building suffered significant damage and collapsed. It was learned that there was a pharmacy on the ground floor of the collapsed structure. It was stated that the building was old and had low earthquake resistance.
Following the earthquake, 10 buildings collapsed in the region. One of the 2 people trapped under the rubble after the earthquake has been rescued.
